Animal Matching Egg Hunt!

Saturday, April 2 anytime from 10am-Noon.
Meet at the Willow River Nature Center.

Join us at the park for a fun and educational egg hunt where we will see how well you know Wisconsin wildlife! Search for up to 50 hidden eggs containing pictures of baby animals along the Hidden Ponds Nature Trail. Snap a picture of the babies you find, then return to home base and match them up correctly with their mothers. Participants will receive a small participation prize. This is a great family activity that will get everyone outdoors and ready to explore!

Hello Spring Hike!

Saturday, April 9 hike leaves at 10 am. Meet outside the Willow River Nature Center.

Get outside and greet spring as you embark on a 6 mile round trip hike and discover some of the most beautiful sights at Willow River State Park. This hike will take you along the Willow River, above Little Falls Lake and up close and personal to the Willow Falls. Along the way, you will venture through a variety of habitats including wetlands, prairie, river bottoms, and mature deciduous and coniferous forests. The terrain varies throughout the hike and includes some very steep hills. The hike will take roughly 2 ½ -3 hours to complete. Please dress for the weather and bring along, water, good hiking boots, binoculars, a camera and a snack if you wish.

Geocaching in The Park!

Saturday, April 23 due to inclement weather conditions

Get out in the fresh air and have fun with this treasure hunting activity. Bring an item to place into any caches you find if you wish to take any items out. We will have a limited number of GPS units will be available. Please feel free to bring your own GPS unit or smartphone with the free geocaching APP if you have one.

Spring Scavengers!

Saturday, April 30 from 1-3pm
Meet at the Willow River Nature Center.

Spring is in the air! Get outside and enjoy it with this fun treasure hunting activity. Search for items on a checklist throughout the park, or complete a fact-find scavenger hunt along the Hidden Ponds trail then come back to the Nature Center and collect a small participation prize!
