Free February Events



Saturday, February 1st from 12-4pm. Meet At Willow River Nature Center.

Let it snow, let it snow, OutWiGo! Launch into 2020 with Wisconsin State Parks at OutWiGo Snow, a winter recreation celebration at Willow River State Park. Bundle up with family and friends for an active afternoon of sledding, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, hot cocoa, s’mores and more! Cross-country ski and snowshoe rentals will be available. Participants of all ages are welcome. A $5 admission fee applies to participants ages 18 years and older, cash only. A Wisconsin State Park vehicle admission sticker or day pass is required for entry. More details coming soon!


Candlelight Ski and Hike!

Saturday, February 15th, from 6-8:30pm Meet at the Willow River Nature Center.  


Join the Friends of Willow River and Kinnickinnic State Parks as they host a Candlelight Ski, Snowshoe, and Hike event. Both hiking and ski trails will be illuminated totaling over 2 miles of trail. There will be two bonfires and refreshments available. Please do not bring pets!

Frosty Falls Hike!

Saturday, February 29th. Hike leaves at 10am. Meet at the Nature Center.  


Join Naturalist Ashley on a wintery walk to the Willow Falls. This is a spectacular time of year for viewing the frost covered falls. But don’t just take our word for it, get out there and see for yourself! This will be a 4 mile hike round trip. Depending on the weather and depth of snow it could also be quite strenuous. Be sure to dress in warm layers, bring plenty of water, and good hiking boots or snowshoes.
