Hi Everyone,

Out of concern for our visitors, staff, and volunteers and in support of Wisconsin's Department of Health’s community mitigation strategy for COVID-19, all classes, programs and events will be cancelled until such time that we are informed by public health officials that it is safe to resume programming and events. As of now, we will be cancelling all programming through April 25th to mirror the Wisconsin School District's closures.

While social distancing is being encouraged, it doesn't mean you need to stay indoors! Take a hike, pull out your bike, look for hibernators and new plants emerging, or simply soak up some sun in your favorite outdoor space. It doesn't take much to experience nature's healing ways.

Please check back for updates.

Stay Well,

Compass and Map Reading 101!

Saturday, March 28th 10am at Willow River Nature Center.

Have you ever wanted to take a backpacking trip but doubted your abilities to navigate yourself without getting lost? Or maybe opened a map and realized you have no idea how to read it? You’re not alone; many people feel the same way. Come and learn the basics of compass and map reading, which will heighten your confidence in yourself and your abilities to orientate yourself. We will supply maps and compasses for the class. This event is also kid friendly! You are never too young to start learning, though I do encourage kids to be ages 8 and up.

Don’t Forget About Our Preschool Young Naturalist Classes!

Every Tuesday or Wednesday from 10-11am bring your preschooler (ages 3-5) to the Nature Center to learn about all things Nature!

Classes include hikes, games, crafts, story time and more! Always come dressed for the weather and with plenty of water.
