  Fall Colors Hike at Kinnickinnic State Park!

Saturday, October 2. Hike leaves at 9 am.

Meet at the gravel parking lot off of 770th.

Fall is upon us, get outdoors and enjoy it! Join Naturalist Ashley on a 3-mile hike along the Kinnickinnic River while observing the beautiful fall colors of several deciduous trees. Learn why leaves change different colors in the fall and identify different types of trees and hopefully wildlife along the way.
Bring along water, a camera, good hiking shoes, and dress in layers for the ever-changing weather!

Fall Colors Hike at Willow River State Park!

Saturday, October 9. Hike leaves at 9am Sharp.
Meet at the Willow River State Park Nature Center.

Join Naturalist Ashley on a 6-mile round trip hike to the Willow Falls while observing the beautiful fall colors of several deciduous trees. Learn why leaves change different colors in the fall and identify different types of trees and hopefully wildlife along the way.

This will be a more strenuous, long-distance hike with several sections of hilly terrain. Bring along plenty of water, a camera, good hiking shoes, and dress in layers for the ever-changing weather!

Fall Scavenger Hunt!

Saturday, October 23. Anytime from 10am-Noon. Behind the Willow River Nature Center.

Join us at the park for a fun and educational scavenger hunt. Search for items, solve riddles, and uncover hidden animals in the forest while surrounded by beautiful fall colors and fresh, cool air. 

Be sure to wear your halloween costume to celebrate the upcoming holiday!

Spooky Nocturnal Animals Hike!

Saturday, October 30th at 7PM. Meet at the Willow River State Park Nature Center.

With Halloween approaching, the nights are getting long, cold, dark and eerie. Who is making all those spine-chilling noises in the forests at night?! Is it a ghost or a ghoul out to steal your s’mores or your SOUL?!

Join Naturalist Ashley on an evening hike and discover who’s responsible for all those spooky sounds of the night! Then embark on a flashlight scavenger hunt and see if you are rewarded with a trick or a treat at the end! 

Don't forget to wear your Halloween Costume!

Don’t Forget About Our Preschool Young Naturalist Classes!

Every Wednesday or Thursday from 10-11am bring your preschooler (ages 3-5) to the Nature Center to learn about all things nature!

Classes include hikes, games, crafts, story time and more! Always come dressed for the weather and with plenty of water.
