Ways to Get Involved
-
Nature Center Host: Be the welcoming face of our parks! Share your love for the outdoors by chatting with visitors, answering questions, and helping out in our gift shop (where proceeds directly fund park programs). Even a partial shift makes a huge difference in keeping our doors open and welcoming to the community.
-
Community Events Ambassador: From seasonal festivals to big community celebrations, our special events are the highlights of the year! Join this high-energy crew to help us welcome neighbors, manage activities, and ensure our major park events run smoothly and beautifully.
-
Weekend Program Helper: Our weekend nature programs are a hub of activity, often welcoming over 100 visitors at a time! If you love being around people of all ages and enjoy educating the public about animals and nature, this is the perfect spot for you to help out on these fun, busy days.
-
Park Cleanup Crew: Looking for a breath of fresh air and a chance to hang out with fellow nature enthusiasts? Join our friendly summer volunteer group to help keep our parks beautiful, pristine, and litter-free for everyone to enjoy.
-
Nature Class Assistant: Do you love working with kids and inspiring the next generation? Help us run our year-round educational classes and guide children as they discover the wonders of the natural world.
-
Educational Speaker: Are you an expert or passionate hobbyist when it comes to wildlife, plants, or local history? We’d love for you to take the stage and share your unique passion with our eager park guests.
-
Trail Maintenance Team: Give back to the trails you love! From clearing brush and tackling invasive species to maintaining park buildings and light construction, this active group meets most Tuesdays from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m.

The Ripple Effect:
Every Hour Counts
Why Logging Your Time Matters
Once you join our volunteer family, we ask that you keep track of and log your hours after every shift or event. It might feel like a small detail, but tracking your time makes a massive impact behind the scenes!
Here is why your logged hours are so vital to our community:
-
It Funds Our Parks: Many of our critical grants and state funding rely directly on volunteer data. Showing that our community actively dedicates their time helps us secure the financial support needed to keep both parks beautiful.
-
It Shapes Our Programs: Knowing how many hands it takes to run a weekend festival or maintain a trail helps us plan better, keep our volunteers supported, and create even better experiences for our visitors.
-
We Want to Celebrate You! Your time is incredibly valuable. Logging your hours allows us to properly recognize, thank, and celebrate your dedication at our volunteer appreciation events.
