Volunteer Opportunities

There are so many ways you can make a difference at both of the parks.

Below are examples of volunteer opportunities.

Email us at naturecenter@willowkinnifriends.org for more information.

Park Cleanup

Looking for a way to help keep your beautiful park clean? How about meeting nature enthusiasts and like-minded people such as yourself? Meet our volunteer group and help pick up litter in the summer.

Trail Maintenance

Cleaning up trail brush, working with invasive species, picking up litter, helping maintain buildings, or even building things. A group meets on most Tuesdays from 9-11 a.m. For more information, please click here for the Buckthorn Brigade

Educational Speaker

Are you an enthusiast in some area that has to deal with animals or nature? Would you like to share your passion with others? We would love to have you share your presentation with our park guests.

Weekend Program Helper

Almost every weekend there is an event or program running at one of the parks where there can be up to a 100+ visitors present at a time. Help is always appreciated on these fun but busy days. If you love being around people of all ages and enjoy educating the public about animals and nature, this one is for you!

Nature Class Helper

Do you like working with children? We offer classes throughout the year and would love some volunteers to help us run the classes by assisting in the learning of children.

Nature Center Host

Want to meet new people? Share your love of the park? Or just help someone out? Come volunteer in our nature center where you will answer visitor questions and sell items in our gift shop that support the programs and the park. Can't work a whole shift? That's ok, any little bit helps us out and keeps the nature center open.

Camp Host

Helping fellow campers! Camp in the 300 Campground for FREE while you are Camp Host.  Your duties would include selling firewood and answering questions every evening from 7-8 p.m. at your campsite.
